Instructions
- Prepare Ingredients: Slice the chicken breasts thinly. Slice the onion and dice the orange pepper. Mince the garlic and finely dice the jalapeño pepper. Shred the green cabbage to have all ingredients ready for cooking.
- Cook Chicken: Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat and melt the butter. Add the sliced chicken, season with salt and pepper, and stir-fry for 5-7 minutes or until chicken is cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
- Sauté Aromatics: In the same skillet, add the sliced onion and sauté for about 3 minutes until softened. Add the minced garlic and diced jalapeño pepper, cooking for an additional minute to release their flavors.
- Cook Vegetables: Add the shredded cabbage and diced orange pepper to the skillet. Stir-fry for 5-7 minutes until the vegetables are tender-crisp, maintaining a nice crunch.
- Add Sauces & Combine: Pour in the chicken stock, oyster sauce, and soy sauce. Stir well to combine the flavors. Return the cooked chicken to the skillet and toss everything together. Heat through for another 2-3 minutes.
- Serve: Garnish the stir-fry with fresh parsley before serving. Enjoy hot as a nutritious and flavorful meal.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, increase the amount of jalapeño or add crushed red pepper flakes.
- Substitute chicken stock with vegetable stock for a lighter flavor or to make it halal-friendly.
- Use low sodium soy sauce and oyster sauce to reduce the salt content.
- Pair with steamed jasmine rice or noodles for a complete meal.
- Ensure vegetables remain tender-crisp by not overcooking during stir-fry.
