Description

This refreshing Elderflower Martini combines the floral sweetness of elderflower liqueur with the citrusy tang of homemade sweet and sour, balanced by the crisp flavors of gin and vodka. Perfect for a sophisticated cocktail hour or a summer evening treat.

Ingredients

Scale

Fresh Citrus Juices

  • 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 cup freshly squeezed lime juice

Simple Syrup

  • 1 ¾ cup simple syrup

Alcohol

  • 1 ounce gin
  • 1 ounce vodka
  • 1 ounce elderflower liqueur

Additional Ingredients

  • 2 ounces homemade sweet and sour (made from lemon & lime juice and simple syrup)
  • 2 lime wedges (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the homemade sweet and sour: In a mixing container, combine the freshly squeezed lemon juice, lime juice, and simple syrup. Stir well until fully blended to create the homemade sweet and sour mix.
  2. Mix the cocktail: In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, pour in the gin, vodka, elderflower liqueur, and 2 ounces of the homemade sweet and sour mixture. Shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds until well chilled.
  3. Serve the martini: Strain the mixture into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with a lime wedge on the rim for an added citrus touch and visual appeal.

Notes

  • Use fresh citrus juice for the best flavor in the sweet and sour mix.
  • Adjust the amount of simple syrup for preferred sweetness.
  • Chill your martini glass beforehand to keep the cocktail cold longer.
  • Elderflower liqueur adds a fragrant floral note; do not substitute with other liqueurs if aiming for authentic taste.
