Ingredients
Scale
Oreo Crust
- 1 package Oreos (divided, about 2/3 crushed finely)
Creamy Filling
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- ½ cup butter, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 16 oz Cool Whip
Pudding Mixture
- 2 boxes INSTANT vanilla pudding mix (3.3 oz each)
- 3 cups milk
Decoration
- Easter candy for decoration
Instructions
- Prepare the Oreo crust: Crush about two-thirds of the Oreo package into fine crumbs using a food processor or by placing them in a plastic bag and crushing with a rolling pin. Spread these crumbs evenly in the bottom of a 9×13 inch pan to form the base layer.
- Make the cream cheese mixture: In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and butter together until smooth and creamy. Add the powdered sugar and mix well. Gently fold in the Cool Whip to keep the mixture light and fluffy.
- Prepare the pudding: In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk and instant vanilla pudding mix until the mixture thickens, about 2 minutes. Then carefully fold this pudding into the cream cheese mixture until fully combined.
- Assemble the cake: Pour the creamy filling evenly over the Oreo crust layer in the pan. Sprinkle the remaining crushed Oreo crumbs over the top to create a decorative topping layer.
- Chill and decorate: Refrigerate the assembled dessert for at least three hours to set. Just before serving, decorate the top with colorful Easter candy for a festive touch.
Notes
- Ensure the cream cheese and butter are fully softened for smooth mixing.
- Instant pudding mix thickens quickly; fold it gently into the cream mixture to maintain fluffiness.
- For extra texture, add chopped nuts or mini chocolate chips in the layers if desired.
- Keep the finished dessert refrigerated and consume within 2-3 days for freshness.
- Decorate just before serving to prevent candy from melting or sticking.
