- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- â…“ cup unsalted butter, melted
Cinnamon Swirl Mixture
- â…“ cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
Glaze
- ½ cup powdered sugar
- 1 to 2 tablespoons milk or cream
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with paper liners to prepare for baking.
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt to ensure they are evenly combined.
- Mix Wet Ingredients: In another bowl, combine the milk, egg, vanilla extract, and melted butter, whisking until smooth.
- Combine Wet and Dry: Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just mixed. Avoid overmixing to keep muffins tender.
- Prepare Cinnamon Swirl: In a small bowl, mix together brown sugar, ground cinnamon, and melted butter until well combined to create the cinnamon swirl mixture.
- Fill Muffin Liners: Spoon batter into the paper liners, filling each about one-third full. Add a teaspoon of the cinnamon swirl mixture on top.
- Layer Batter: Add more batter on top of the swirl until liners are about three-quarters full.
- Swirl Mixture: Use a toothpick or skewer to gently swirl the cinnamon mixture through the batter to create a marbled effect.
- Bake Muffins: Bake in the preheated oven for 18 to 22 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Cool Muffins: Let the muffins cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Prepare Glaze & Drizzle: Mix the powdered sugar with 1 to 2 tablespoons of milk or cream to make a smooth glaze. Drizzle the glaze over the warm muffins before serving.
