Ingredients
Scale
Meat Mixture
- 2 pounds ground beef (browned)
- 1/2 cup white onion (finely chopped)
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 teaspoon sea salt
- 4 oz. cream cheese (cut into small cubes)
- 1 1/2 cups grated cheddar cheese (divided)
Egg Mixture
- 4 large eggs
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
Toppings
- 1 1/2 cups shredded romaine lettuce
- 1/4 cup dill pickle slices
- 1-2 teaspoons sesame seeds
Big Mac Sauce
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 2 teaspoons French dressing
- 1/4 cup sweet pickle relish
- 1 teaspoon classic yellow mustard
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
Instructions
- Brown the Beef and Onions: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef. Once the beef is partially browned, add the finely chopped onions and continue cooking until the beef is fully cooked through and the onions are soft and translucent.
- Add Cream Cheese and Cheddar: Drain any excess fat and liquid from the skillet. Add the cream cheese cubes and 1/2 cup of the grated cheddar cheese to the beef mixture. Stir continuously until the cheeses have melted and are evenly incorporated.
- Spread Beef Mixture: Transfer the beef and cheese mixture evenly into a 9×13 inch baking dish, spreading it out to the edges in an even layer.
- Prepare and Add Egg Mixture: In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs and heavy cream until fully combined. Pour this egg mixture evenly over the beef layer in the baking dish.
- Top with Remaining Cheddar: Sprinkle the remaining 1 cup of grated cheddar cheese evenly over the top of the egg and beef mixture.
- Bake the Casserole: Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 20 minutes. The casserole is done when the cheese is melted, and the egg and meat mixture is set and firm to the touch.
- Mix the Big Mac Sauce: While the casserole is baking, combine sour cream, mayonnaise, French dressing, sweet pickle relish, yellow mustard, onion powder, granulated sugar, and smoked paprika in a small bowl. Whisk until smooth and fully combined.
- Assemble and Serve: Once baked, remove the casserole from the oven and pour the prepared Big Mac sauce evenly over the top to taste. Sprinkle shredded romaine lettuce, dill pickle slices, and sesame seeds across the top. Serve immediately for best flavor and texture.
Notes
- Use a non-stick skillet or drain the beef well to avoid excess grease in the casserole.
- Adjust the amount of Big Mac sauce to suit your taste preference.
- For a slightly crispier top, broil the casserole for 2-3 minutes after baking (watch carefully to avoid burning).
- This casserole can be refrigerated for up to 3 days and reheated in the oven or microwave.
- Feel free to add extra seasoning like garlic powder or smoked paprika to the beef for additional flavor.
