Description

Bang Bang Salmon Bites are flavorful, bite-sized pieces of salmon coated in a spicy, sweet, and tangy bang bang sauce. This quick and easy recipe offers versatile cooking methods—pan-seared, baked, or air fried—to create perfectly cooked salmon bites that make an excellent appetizer or light meal.

Ingredients

Scale

Salmon Bites

  • 1 pound skinless salmon fillets
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Bang Bang Sauce

  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons Thai sweet chili sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sriracha
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • ½ teaspoon lime juice

Instructions

  1. Prep the Salmon: Cut the salmon fillets into 1-inch cubes. Toss the cubes in olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper (if using), salt, and black pepper to coat evenly.
  2. Cook the Salmon: Choose your preferred method: To cook on the stovetop, heat a skillet over medium-high heat and cook the salmon cubes for 2–3 minutes per side until cooked through. To bake, preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and bake for 10–12 minutes. To air fry, preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) and air fry the salmon bites for 8–10 minutes.
  3. Make the Bang Bang Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, Thai sweet chili sauce, sriracha, honey, and lime juice until smooth and well combined.
  4. Toss and Serve: Once the salmon bites are cooked, toss them in the bang bang sauce to coat evenly. Serve immediately for best flavor and texture.

Notes

  • You can adjust the cayenne pepper and sriracha quantities to control the spiciness of the dish.
  • Using skinless salmon fillets ensures even cooking and a tender bite.
  • The recipe allows flexibility in cooking methods based on your kitchen equipment.
  • Serve with steamed rice, greens, or as an appetizer with toothpicks for easy serving.
